Great City, much nicer than Faro or Albufeira.
Some great restaurants, perfect location to drive with your car somewhere. The city is also clean, despite all the beggars coming to you while have a drink or while eating, that's can be irritating at some point.

A beautiful old town on the edge of Faro, easily accessible by bus and train from the airport. Or a reasonable and quick Uber ride.
The traditional properties in the town centre are beautiful and the promenade is wonderful. Well kept, clean with great facilities including outdoor exercise equipment and sun loungers.
I saw the Saturday market and bought a lot of beautiful produce, it was a delight.
The access to the islands is a bonus.
Loved it all apart from my noisy Airbnb and ride old men calling me Puta for no reason haha...
I can handle that.. silly men.
Gelato place on promenade is 👌
Seafood is 👌

It's nice to go to the islands.
It's nice to go to the islands. The natural park is great for bird watching. There is a fish & vegetables/fruits market most days at the marina. Recommend for a day or two, not more. Not too much to see.

Definitely worth a visit .
Definitely worth a visit .
Plenty of little restaurants dotted about, had great tapas .Loved wandering around the old town and “stork” spotting. Everything is easily walkable , the weather was lovely, you can do boat trips or get the train round the coast.
I’d do it as a two centre holiday with either Faro or Tavira

Beautiful town. Markets were a sight to see.
Beautiful town. Markets were a sight to see. Plenty of good restaurants about - Cha cha cha, Terra i Mar, Arraul, Hola Torito to name but a few. Best pastelaria i have ever been in (and we go to at least one every time we go to Portugal - 27 times so far!!) - Delicia de Olhao. The selection of breads and pastries is amazing. We had breakfast and lunch on various days - fabulous.
Ferry trips are a must do - Armona is the best one but expect a bit of a hike to get to the stunning caribbean-like beach, a good 20 minute walk from the ferry,
And do make use of the train - take a trip down to Tavira (get off at porta nova, closer to the town centre), Vila Real or Faro - relatively cheap way of getting about, just be sure to get the times from the station for coming back.
The pool area is incredibly well kept and tidy. It's like having your own private pool.
The rooms were huge, there was 8 of us and not once did we feel cramped.
Everything is clean, the staff are lovely and attentive. We genuinely have nothing bad at all to say about Villas Marim, this is far beyond a hotel.
Two nice restaurants next door (walking distance)
Aldi is a 6 minute drive away and Olhao is a 9 minute drive away. The lovely Tavira is 25 minute drive away.
Highly recommended staying here.
Great location close to Market, town centre, bars , restaurants and cafes. Unfortunately left some clothes in the apartment, but telephoned next day to receive very helpful information to return and collect from delightful staff.
Best boat tour around the Ria’s with Sabina boat tours, Maria’s help re booking and Joah as Captain, with his exceptional knowledge of the area, fish/clam farming, and lots of stories from his life long experience of living in Olhao was a terrific afternoons trip.
The breakfast was excellent. Our room was immaculate with a view of Olhao from the balcony. The location of the hotel is ideal and lies between the train station and the downtown. Each way a 5 minute walking distance.
The staff was very friendly from the minute we entered the lobby. They answered all our questions during our stay and helped us with the transportation to the airport by calling us a taxi on our last day.
All in all a superb hotel. Thanks for accommodating us.
If you are planning a stay in Olhao this place is your best bet. The owners are so gracious and accommodating. The rooms are impeccably clean and the rooftop deck overlooks the town with a view of the ocean...beautiful!. My daughter and I stayed there for 2 weeks after Christmas and could have stayed longer. I loved the location next to the church and the sound of the bells chiming throughout the day. I really can't say enough good things about this place, it's a great deal!
Beautiful guesthouse ( B&B ) just outside of Olhao. Very clean and spacious room with nice balcony. Changing of the towels and cleaning service every 2 to 3 days. Lovely breakfast on the outside terrace.
The small but great swimming pool is a good refreshment after a day of discovering the environment of Olhao. Olhao is a great spot to go to Faro, Tavira and a lot of other small Algarvian villages.
Thanks a lot to the very friendly host.
We stayed 2 nights at Guest Mar abs it’s one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed in. João is extremely helpful, honest and always ready to help. The house is incredible, an old historic home beautifully restored, with such taste, so comfortable and so very clean!
The staff were kind and helpful as well. We are only sorry we didn’t stay longer and are planning our return already.
The town of Olhão is darling, a little treasure in Algarve
In the middle of Olhao you find this great house. We had the room uppstairs, you have to take very small stairs. The room was bid, the bed too. The 2 rooftops are great and the best! very big und with a wonderful view. The bathroom was a little bit small and it felt, as if it was directly in the room with a thin door. so better stay here with people you know very well :)
The hotel was very clean with spacious rooms and great facilities. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and quick to respond to our requests. The location is great too - it’s just a 5 minute walk into Olhao. The breakfast was fantastic, with a wide selection of fruits and cooked foods.
Very kind and hospitable host who is doing everything to make sure his guests have a great stay
Spacious, clean, modern apartment with balcony and spacious, clean bathroom
Extensive, tasteful breakfast
Located in the non-touristy authentic part of Olhao
Excellent value for money
Absolutely beautiful hotel in the perfect location. Delicious fresh breakfast and staff could not be more accommodating. Special shout out to Bea and Sara who went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible 💖.
It was my second time at the Quinta dos Poetas. Had been there in 2017 and chose it again for this visit to the Faro area. I just find it a wonderful place to stay, quiet, gorgeous facilities, friendly staff and great breakfast.
Superb new hotel, in lovely Olhao. Very close to the Marina and markets, which are very nicely developed. Staff were very friendly, and the room was excellent - good size, very clean, very tastefully decorated. Perfect stay!
The place was clean, comfortable and convenient to walk around old town & go to the the markets, boats & restaurants nearby.
It was nice to have air conditioning upstairs & downstairs because Olhao is HOT.
Great location and amazing view from the rooftop. The room was lovely as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Olhão. The food and drinks on the roof were also delicious 🤤
They gifted my husband with a botlle of champagne and brownies for his birthday. We thought it was such a nice surprise! Great service. Amazing breakfast. Those were the best days of our vacation.
Impeccable.Wonderful warm staff.Pool area a little gem and near to everything.Breakfast very good quality and mix.Rooms comfortable and very, very clean .A lovely boutique hotel well done!
