We start all our tours from Vila Real de Santo Antônio on the mouth of the river facing the other side of Ayamonte on the other side of which is Spanish territory. The river crosses the border for 50km. Up river we have 4 small villages and we will do 2 stops in two of the small villages you can find next to the river. First stop Guerreiros do Rio for 40 minutes to visit the only Museum you can find, the only one on the river. Next stop Laranjeiras to visit the old Roman Village from century I. Continuing up north as the river gets narrower. In 15 minutes we will find the village of Alcoutim with a medieval castle church. It is a really cool village where you can breathe history everywhere and find the real Algarve away from crowds and tourism.Image
