The Águas Livres Aqueduct was built by King D. João V to supply water to Lisbon, according to Manuel da Maia's project, having supplied the city from 1748.With 14 km of extension from the main source and several subsidiary and distribution aqueducts, with a total of 58 km, supplied a network of fountains in the city.Image
