Portimão
The beach of Três Irmãos is located at the eastern end of a huge stretch of sand which makes up Alvor beach. This end of the beach is home to some fantastical rock formations and it is from some of these that the beach gets its name. Translated, "Três Irmãos" means "three brothers" and this refers to three sea stacks that run across the beach.

Igreja do Divino Salvador, Matriz de Alvor (Church of the Divine Saviour) dates back to the 16th century, as does its best feature, the Manueline style doorway.
This whitewashed Algarvian church was largely rebuilt in the 18th century in the Rococo style. The interior is fairly impressive consisting of three naves and fine vaulting, some of which dates back to the original church. A lavish high altar and holy water font also date back to the 16th century.
Looking over the rocky point that separates Alvor from the beach at Praia da Vau. The beach here is popular and has its own resort but is just far enough away from Portimão to escape from the major holiday crowds of neighbouring Praia da Rocha.
Nestled away behind the rocks of the point is the lovely little cove of Praia do Barranco das Canas - but you can't quite see it here!
