The Oceanarium in the Parque das Nacoes. Built at the same time as the rest of the development in 1998 to host the Expo.
It was designed by American architect Peter Chermayeff and is the largest in Europe with several zones representing different oceanic environments.

The Monument to the Discoveries was officially unveiled in 1960 as part of the celebrations of the 500 year anniversary of the death of Henry the Navigator. Along with Henry are many other important figures from Portugal's history.
