A common sight in Lisbon - car parking 'attendants'. If you try and park in downtown Lisbon one of these guys will appear and 'help' you. I've always payed them as I assume the implication is if you don't something might happen to your car.
I guess most of them are junkies and this means they get money without doing anything too bad. Some of them do actually keep an eye on the cars as well.

Rua do Ouro in Lisbon's downtown or Baixa district. The name means gold street and this is derived from the many establishments that used to make and sell pieces of filigree Portuguese gold work

A cannon looks out over Lisbon from the Castelo de Sao Jorge. From here you can see half the sights of Lisbon including Rossio and Praca da Figueira, the bridge, Bairro Alto etc.
